Thanks for your response. In regards to my statement concerning vets treating f
errets like cats, yes I found some that did. That is why I kept searching for a
vet that I felt like I could trust. My first ferret Hun-Hun was treated like a
guinea pig. I had several vets that gave him both canine and feline shots. Whe
n he was sick I had a vet diagnose pneumonia and treat him. When the symptoms r
eturned I went for a second opinion and was told he had heart, thyroid and live
r problems probably due to incorrect diet. I had been feeding him dog food and
according to the vet it lacked essential nutrients such as taurine. This is all
opinion, so I cannot say what is true and correct. I have since been to two ot
her vets with my new babies, until I found someone I feel comfortable with and
with whom I think has my ferrets best interest at heart. But I have yet to find
a vet who has complete knowledge about ferrets. It is very frustrating but I w
ill keep trying because I love my ferrets and want a long and healthy life for
them. A Ferret Lover, Judy Gallipeau
