To get the smell out of fabric, wash in ALOT of tomato juice and a big dose
of baking soda with regular detergent. repeat until scent is "gone". To
remove the leftover odor in the apartment/house, burn a bunch (as many as
is safe...no good burning down an unsmelly house!) of candles where the
smell is the worst, and a few in each room. Find somewhere else for the
ferrets while the candles are burning.

As a fellow attempted-rescue-of-skunks-er this is what worked for me. And
it still didnt do a perfect job, but was much better than anything else we
tried.

Marya (the mom), and Len (hubby), Zach (human baby), and the fuzz crew:
Molly, Emma, Grover, and Boo-boo (herbie the khuli loach has met his maker).

ps good luck!!
