I choose ferrets from the Tree for various reasons. I chose Eisley from
the WA Ferret Rescue, because he looked so much like Gem who I had
recently lost to adrenal disease....white, naked and beautiful. Eisley
decided to join Gem at the Rainbow Bridge. I sent a box of Christmas
gifts labeled "In Memory of Eisley" to the shelter. I didn't expect a
thank you, I never do. When I get one, it's wonderful but I know how
busy shelters are every day. The shelter gave the box of presents
to Eisley's foster mom, who with her husband, fosters several other
shelter kids. She wrote me a letter with condolences about my Gem
and about how Eisley's friends enjoyed the gifts. The letter is
beautiful...... and has a photo of Eisley printed on it!

My thoughts on the Giving Tree.......... if the ferret you chose dies,
still send gifts that will be appreciated at the shelter or foster
home. Or chose a ferret that has left already for the Bridge and send
gifts. The shelter posted that ferret because their time was close and
a gift should be sent in their memory.

Nancy in Oregon listening to the pounding rain hoping the the shelters
in the northwest are all okay with all this rain, snow and
flooding.......
