For those of you dealing with pet stores that house ferret improperly here
are a few suggestions.

1. First and foremost, always be polite. Talk with the person in charge
that is there at the time and explain the problems and suggest solutions.
2. Print off general care of ferrets guidelines from the web or copy from
books and take to the pet store and give one copy to the person in charge,
one to the manager, and one to the owner.
3. Contact the State Animal Health Dept and report it, also ask who the
inspector is and contact that inspector directly.
4. Contact local animal organizations.
5. Contact USDA and file a complaint.
6. Contact the local media and try to get them interested in doing a story.

Hugs. tle
