Dr. Williams and FML'rs,

I am posting this on the FML so that others may know the answer also:
Dr.Williams, you responded after my posting of Fang's tumor, (thank you,
thank you), and said that a high dose of pred will help his last days. He
is on 1/2 ml twice a day .....his glucose came in at 120 last Monday when
they found the tumor on his liver. ( I know it doesn't matter about his
glucose reading now). HOW MUCH TO GIVE A BABY THAT HAS ONLY WEEKS TO LIVE
TO HELP HIM FEEL GOOD? Do you think that three times a day dosage would
be better than two? (spread them out as some people do, rather than two
times a day?)

This morning his bruises are going away, and his tummy looks good. (bald,
but good). He is once again Frankenstein Fang with lotsa stitches, but
getting around better today. I think he dreams about the red licorice
he gets to have now, and shows more interest in life when he wakes up.
<smile>. He still eats four cubes a day of Bob's Gravy a day; so far, so
good. Also is on Amoxycillan twice a day for a few more days.

Auntie Troy Lynn suggested trying Essiac, that supposedly helps reduce
tumors. I am always open to anything she suggests, but am skeptical only
because I think it is too late. The doc says his tumor is quite large.
Has anybody had success with Essiac?. I wish I had tried it
sooner...didn't know he had the tumor all this year. <sigh>

To Ferretguy, I read about Arnold and shared your pain. You do so much
good in this world. We will have a Ferret Hall of Fame in Heaven, and you
can stand beside Troy Lynn and the other shelter runners and vets that care
so much... and others that I would personally put there, and you know who
your are. You are the ones who help others through their pain; both those
with fur and the rest of us without. I have stored your gift of compassion
in my heart to help on rainy days when it hurts.

In my catching up, I ran across Duane Watt's poem *Ode to a ferret*.
(fantastic)...there is so much love on this list. God Bless you Dr.
Williams (and BIG too!) So many good Santa Clauses and so many great
elves abound on the FML.

Merry Christmas and wishing us all free from pain at this special time,
lizzi
