If you are having problems with ECE or other bowel problems in your ferrets,
here might be the help you are looking for. It comes from one of the AZ
shelters not on line.

Buy some Pet Authority Digestive Tract Conditioner (for cats or dogs) and
treat the ferrets with this as soon as they come into the shelter/home. It
seems to minimize the effect of ECE on the ferret's system, though it does
not make them immune to ECE. You can also add it to duck soup to boost the
systems of ferrets already effected. It seems to be readily taken by most
ferrets straight, and so I recommend to make sure everyone is getting the
proper dosage (Kitten dose for ill ferrets, 1 cm for preventive care twice a
day).

The product (for cats) contains Acidophilus, cranberry juice, yucca, vit E,
and taurine. The dog formula is a little bit different, but just as
effective. Keep refrigerated!

Hope this helps. Pam
