Someone posted regarding putting carpet on the walking surfaces of their
ferret cages. Lucky me, when I had carpet put in my house I had large
pieces left over, so have even had matching carpet in their cage!! It gets
vacuumed regularly, however, it also needs deep cleaned often. So far it
has held up well - here's how I do it: remove from cage and put on back
patio; soak w/hose; sprinkle Lysol disinfectant cleaner and scrub w/brush;
turn over and do the same on the back side; rinse really well, then rinse
well again; hang to dry so it doesn't take as long (water runs out).

Also, regarding corner litter pans - I changed from square to triangle
(corner type) when we changed cages about a year ago. Shortly after I
noticed that one of my two ferrets (at that time) stopped using the pan and
would go just in front of it or next to it. A more experienced ferret
person suggested I put the square pan back in and see what happens - well,
he went back to using the pan!! Case closed....no corner litter pans. If
you notice your kids not using the pan, might want to try switching to
whichever shape you are not using.

Hope my experience can help someone....so many have helped me! With
everyone in Florida, some of us "lurkers" need to come out and share!
