Thank you to all the kind people who said a prayer for Zoo and Ellie.
The little seal ferret is still alive.

Zoo, despite the many other little ones who depend on her, was kind
enough to let me talk to Ellie over the phone and take a picture of
Ellie as I spoke to her. (She knows her name, little smarty.)

My vet was useless, and thought a limp ferret in his hands for about 10
minutes was normal. I wondered why he just sat there. He was going to
give Ellie...who obviously was not feeling well, a distemper and rabies
shot. NO. I did not let him. It was only under pressure from me he gave
me carafate. He would not give me an antibiotic. I did ask to have one,
as she was grinding her teeth and had black tarry stools and was weak
and obviously greatly underweight. He thought she was perfectly fine.

Thank God for the FML. I would never have met Greg without it. Then, I
would never have met Zoo. And I would feel really alone in my love of
these little critters. And I would be helpless to help them.

Zoo took a picture of Ellie McBelly as I spoke to her over the phone.
And there is a picture of her eating a small amount of soup. It is such
a comfort. I printed them out and have them to the side of the computer
so I can see that she is still with this world that has been so mean to
her thus far.

God Bless this woman. God bless her vet. Even if Ellie cannot make it
through all of this, I know I tried my best. I know Zoo and her vet
bent over backwords to give her a chance to be a healthy and loved
ferret.

Thank you for your thoughts and wishes.
Lisette
