Now this is in a survey of six ferrets, four of which are Doug Mckay and two
of which are MF.  The two ferrets who eat Iams/SD (I mix them together) have
enlarged spleens and the other four ferrets who eat exclusively TF have much
much smaller spleens.  One of the Iams/SD ferrets is Doug McKay and one is
MF.
 
this is just my unscientific survey of my own ferrets.  from this, I would
conclude that TF should be given, if possible, instead of cat food.
Unfortunatly, I have two that refuse it.
