If you want to know if a compound is safe to ingest why not ask the
manufacturer?  There will likely be an 800 number on the side of the
container, and if not there should be an address.  Personally, I'd NOT
give the modified and scented stuff to our guys -- sticking instead to
plain petroleum jelly.
