Dear Mom,

This is me, Cinnamon (Who still agrees that buying me from dad was the
best thing you ever did for the both of us!) I wanted you to know that
I love you and miss you and look in on you often. We all love and miss
you, which is why I am writing. The Bridge Greeters have all been so
busy, and a Greeting takes a lot out of them, that and like you pointed
out, we had two Snickers!!!

I got to tag along with Pie one day while he was working on a greeting
one day. He told me that first the greeting went through a sort of "in
take" office. The ferrets there would sort out where the ferret was
arriving from, who are the parents, the condition of the loss and of
course pictures too. Those things all go into a scroll which is then
given to a courier, in Pie's case his brother Hobbes, and then it is
delivered. Once Pie get's it he records it in this large black and
red ledger. He likes to be able to keep track of everyone he greets,
especially if there are ferrets who come from the same family - that
way he can find them and make sure they come along to the Bridge with
him. There are also times when he greets a ferret that may have been
greeted by one of the other more well known greeters, when this happens
he does loads of research to find out more about the family that ferret
came from, and to learn if there are any other siblings here. All of
these things are so important to him, because of his love of all things
ferret, most especially the parents of these kids.

Very big hearts love ferrets, so big that often times they will suffer
a loss, perhaps multiple, and still have it them to adopt, rescue or
buy another of of us. You love us even though we live short lives, we
get sick easily and sometimes come from bad homes and have to learn
not only how to trust, but how to be loved as well.

You have the biggest heart I have ever known, we all think that way,
and by all I mean - and here we go - Bonnie, Clyde, Casper (who is
not an albino but a beautiful cinnamon fert) Casey, Jillian, Pepper,
Sabrina, Wriggs (who still loves Cheerios) Zoey, Minka, Rosey, Snoopy,
Peanut (the sweetheart with an attitude!) Sam (who misses being
cuddled by you ) Precious, Frosty, Bandit, Gideon, Pebbles (who has
a HUGE stash of crochet eggs), Jazzy, even Alex, who may not be a
ferret, but still loves and thinks of you often. I know there are other
fur kids, so many, but never too many, not for the kind of home you
have warmly provided over the years.

I'm lucky, I tell all of the others that too, because of me, they
followed in my paw prints, and made their marks on your heart too, and
I am equally certain we will continue to do so, whether we are here,
or we are there, or we are just waiting to be there with you, call it
"ferrets in the wings" - but there are others waiting to come and be
part of your life and your heart.

So now I will tell you about Snickers. Well you already know all about
her, and we do too, but her arriving, well let me just say, she was
floating on air - literally - Pie arrived in a rush, and with tons of
apologies too, ever see a ferret with bottle brush everywhere? He
looked all frazzled and fuzzed out and full of I'm sorry's, and of
course I told him it was OK, that as long as he he was here to see
Snicker's arrive and write to you, things would be fine.

She floated in, just like she was being carried by unseen attendants.
She was radiant, and had this huge grin on her face, but when she saw
Jazzy, she dived for the ground and ran right to her. The two of them
butted heads and war danced off of each other, and pretty soon we all
joined in. It was nice to see her, and she still had a nice rosy glow
of your last touch upon her, and your smell too, which make us crowd in
around her and reach out a paw to feel you, to smell you, to remember
all of the things which made our lives the very best.

In the end, Pie started a very nice fire, and as we sat there roasting
marshmallows, we each took turns sharing our favorite memories of our
lives with you.

Pie had gotten out his writing tablet, and was taking notes for his
greeting, but I asked if I could write you. That way I would be able
to tell you, again, just how much I love you ..... we all do!

All of my fuzzy love to mom!!!

Cinnamon ( and all of the others!!! )
