I find it hard to believe that anyone would be able to sell kits at such
a young age. Kits eye don't open till between 4-6 weeks. It would be
impossible to spay/neuter or descent let alone give a distemper shot to a
kit before 5-6 weeks. Kits that come out of large litters don't mature
as quickly as a kit from a litter of 6 or under. This is what you may be
seeing in the shipments are under mature kits none 3-4 week old kits. I
have a 3 month old kit now that looks like a 3 week old cuz he came from
a litter of 15. Where as his cage-mate that is his same age is 4 times
his size but he came from a litter of 4 and yet another kit that came
from a litter of 2 is as big as the other 2 put together. All 3 of these
kits were born on the same day only hour apart. Yes an under mature kit
need special care or he may die. They need milk replacement and a soup
to eat and they must be kept warm at all times the same as a young kit.
If the farm is over breeding there jills and are having problem with a
lot of immature kits then I would recommend either don't purchase one of
these kits if you are not trained to know how to care for one. Or if you
do have one now seek help from a professional to get advice on the care.

Hello I'm new here I'm Dr. Jon Wittmore M.D. and I'm known as Dr. Jon.
I have spent the last 15 years of my life researching cancer in fuzzies
to that in my patients. I have owned and worked with fuzzies for more
then 20 years now. I have breed fuzzies for 10 years and I've seen many
immature kits that look much younger then they are. Oh! I don't dump my
fuzzies off on shelters I hirer trained professionals to house and keep
logs on them. Dr. Jon
