It's been awhile since I have posted.  Not much to talk about lately.  Just
wanted to give you an update on the animal shelter here.  When I posted
about the animal shelter here and the guy who runs it and how he wouldn't
give me the ferrets, I received a great response out there from all you
FML'S.  I took the advice and got a copy of the (you know that thing that
talks about rabies and ferrets and how they are domestic critters along
with dogs and cats) to the animal shelter and a copy of the box the vaccine
comes in for ferret vacs.  I later sent him a copy of the ferretwise
newsletter and how animal control can work with the ferrets shelters in
finding homes for these fuzzies.  I also got the humane society involved in
the campaign.  Well, low and behold I got a call from Dave last night from
the animal shelter to come and pick up a real cuttie.  He held him for a
week and then called me when no one called to claim him.  I was so happy I
cried.  I just want to thank you for all of your help.  I am so glad to be
a part of this list I love it.
 
On a second note: my husband and I had made plans to go to Arizona on Sunday
to the vet.  Nippers needs an adrenal operation and have been putting it off
but we couldn't wait any longer.  It's a 4 hour trip one way to the vet.
Being the mother that I am I woke up Sat. morning at 3:00a.m. and realized
my little Sammy had not pooped all day and that morning someone had barfed
in the cage.  I didn't know which one since 4 sleep together.  It just took
awhile to figure out which one and why at 3:00 in the morning I don't know.
But because of Sammy we decided to go on Sat.  instead.  On the way I was
worried Sammy would get worse before we got there.  So my husband giggled
and asked me if wanted to call life flight and have Sam air lifted to the
vet.  I said no but we could put red crosses on the car with pictures of
ferrets on the door and a red light on the roof with a siren and then we
both giggled.  Wouldn't that be a sight.  We decided if my husband was
driving to fast and got pulled over we would ask for a police escort.  Just
thought I would share this with you.
 
Update on Sam and Nipper: Sam is at the vet doing just fine don't know what
he might have eaten but he is ok.  Nipper girl is due to have her surgery
today.  Dr. Lange will call when she is done to let us know the outcome.
She is old but healthy.
