I have found that my ferrets are alot smarter than a cat or dog.  Ona can
even unzip any zipper!  I have also noticed that mine know their way home.
No matter where we go, they know how to get back.  I usually walk them to a
creek behind my house.  On the way back, I just tie their leases together
(so they have to argue which way to go), and run behind them.  Every time
they go straight to the yard.  So they CAN find their way home, just like a
cat or dog, they just dont always wanna come home.  I've had that happen w/
a faulty harness.  (by the way NEVER use a velcro harness)
