My Beasley has a snaggletooth. His lower left canine juts out at a slight
angle. His upper, inner "lip" has a permanent depression where the tooth
rests when his mouth is closed. We had it examined when we first rescued
Beeze and our vet wasn't really concerned because there was no redness or
signs of irritation.

Beeze is about four years old now and it has never been a problem for him.
We were originally thinking about having it extracted (braces aren't an
option :-)), but feared a possible broken jaw as a result. Since it didn't
bother him, we left it alone.

I don't know the cause, but I figured since Beasley really loves to play
tug-of-war, his previous owner might have been a little too enthusiastic
when he was young and yanked the tooth out of alignment. Just a guess of
course.

For the ferrets,
Mike
