I have recently seen several postings regarding unexplained hair loss. As
always, see your vet. If the problem is not due to a medical condition it
could be attributed to blocked hair folicles (sp?) or blackheads. Two of my
own have had this. I treated them both with a product which I acquired from
my vet, it's called "Etiderm" and is used to remove scales and skin debris.
As with most products of this type, it is intended for cats and dogs, but
can be used for ferrets. The only problem I had was, it must be left on for
5 to 10 min. after bringing to a lather ( yeah, right! ). Good Luck!

NEXT: I am not nor will I ever claim to be a medical expert, but please take
a moment to read this:

ECE aka "The Greenies" is not the only "waisting disorder" that ferrets are
prone to. According to my vet there are 4 that all have basically the same
symptoms, but different treatments. I went through four months of h***
fighting to save Mr. Grinch (no I didn't get him at X-Mas he just looks like
the Grinch). It finally took exploratory surgery and 8 biopsies, which went
to a very prominent pathologist, before I finally had an answer. EGE which
is Eosiniphilic gastro enteritis, which has no fix, just treatment. My
point? PLEASE, if you see a "greenie" in the box see a vet. It's not any
fun giving your little one subcutanious fluids two or three times a day, and
heaven help me if I have to do it again.

On a lighter note: Blinking ears - Have you seen them? I have!
The next time your little one is just hanging out, watching the world go by,
watch it's face, wait for the blink, did you see the ears blink too? They
do!!! Really!!!

                                      Happy Holidays!
