Hi! I've posted once or twice since joining this list, but I am a lurker
for the most part.

I need some help with a situation with one of my lovely fuzzies...

My little girl, Jasmine, is a 1.13 lb sable (very dainty!). She is two
years old. The other day we noticed a small bald spot just under her jaw
on the left side. It was very tiny (think the center of a dime), but bald
nevertheless and very smooth. She is otherwise very healthy (enjoys lots
of playtime, eats/drinks well, bowel movements healthy...etc) and showing
no other symptoms of illness or disease. We're not sure if this may be
the very first sign of adrenal disease? Should we watch her to see if she
loses more hair? Should we take her right to the vet to be tested?

We also have a suspicion that this could be from her scratching under her
chin alot, that maybe she's hitting the same spot over and over...this
leads me to my next question - she does tend to scratch alot and we're not
sure why. We've checked for fleas and have found none. We bathe her when
its "time" (every couple of months), so we don't think she's dried out from
too much shampooing and we give her ferretone pretty regularly, too. Any
ideas as to what is causing the itching/scratching?

Any ideas would be appreciated. Private emails would be fine, too

Thanks so much in advance : )

Maryann
