My boys each have their own squeaky. Trouble's is a plush cube with
bunny ears and face. That is his special baby. Meanwhile, Mischief has
a rather large rubber dog toy that defies categorization, which he talks
to when it squeaks. Both toys live in their penthouse.

However, I think my boys have managed to come up with the most unusual
ferret toys: The feather roses I get at the Renaissance Faire! Trouble
took the good time and effort to climb an end table and take one out of
its vase one day. In trying to reclaim it, I found that holding the stem
and allowing the bloom to twitch sent them both into ecstasies. They now
own more of my roses than I do. When they finish grabbing, biting, and
removing a feather or two they turn to one another for a good brawl
before bed. The roses are much better than a cat toy. (Trouble has
since proven that he can recognize a real rose as the same thing. He
singled one out of a bouquet of various flowers and attempted to take a
bite from it, even though the feather roses are not scented.)

I've found that the only thing bought toys are generally good for, except
tiny tennis balls and practice golf balls, is using the squeakers to get
their attention. If they won't come when called while clapping my hands,
when even the sound of the 'cookie bag' doesn't bring them around, the
sound of a distressed squeaky will bring them out from ground every time.
