My Ariel (2000 - 2007) was barely 3 yrs old when she was dx'd w/
supraventricular tachycardia, & my excellent vet here in the armpit of
Ohio kept her healthy for the remainder of her life (a further 3 3/4
yrs) on Atenolol. Only difference was, my husband did the compounding.
When Ariel left us, it was not due to her heart, but cancer. A necropsy
showed that her heart was virtually normal when she left.

A good, caring vet will do whatever is necessary to keep a pet's
quality of life at it's highest possible standard. Kudos to all vets
who take the time to educate themselves on how to do that. Not enough
vets *are* that caring, or that good, & that's where the difference
lies.
