Hi,

Here is another mystery novel that involves ferrets:

Nothing to Fear But Ferrets by Linda O. Johnston

The main character is a former lawyer-turned-pet sitter. The author did
her research in writing this book. It takes place in California and she
talks about the illegality of ferrets and takes pains to make sure they
are not discovered by the authorities.
