The mystery continues.... Chook, our 6 year old male, has decided that he
just doesn't want to eat on his own. After a tremendous weight loss and a
weekend stay at the Vet, we are all at a loss at what is going on inside
this poor little guy.

The x-ray revealed what looked like a "gas cap" - a pocket of air located
at the top of the stomach that could have been the result of a blockage of
some sort. After some weight recovery it was deemed that whatever it was
had passed. The food was changed at home and attempts were made to
encourage more self feeding, he lasted for about two weeks and then he
stopped again. His blood work comes back normal. He has no areas of
enlarged organs or lumps and bumps out of place. We force feed him 3-4
times a day because left to his own devices, he just doesn't eat enough.
His second round of weight loss left him in the near same condition as the
first - rapid weight loss - bones and skin covered with a luxurious coat.
Now he has some padding on the ribs but the spine is slow to be covered.
After reading some posts here about teeth I queried into that but his teeth
were not in that bad of shape to stop him from eating, according to the
vet. His poops are normal - he gets tonic lax regularly - but he eats like
he is starving and holds the syringe inbetween his teeth and just gulps the
food down. He is depressed when we put him in the carrier for the time we
are away at work so we leave out as the free roamer he is. He tends to
flop more now than he use to indicating that he is not himself just yet.
He is not throwing up. He does eat a little Iams and Science Diet but he
seems to want to eat people food more which I hope is short term.

Anyone, anyone? Any help would be appreciated.
