NYC Ferret Vote Passed, BUT...

After an amazingly contentious debate filled with hyperbole and counter
charges about the merits of ferrets as pets, the NY City Council today
voted 26 yes, 13 no and 7 abstentions to pass the ferret legalization bill
(Intro 627) by a one vote margin.
 
BUT... Mayor Giuliani will surely veto this bill and we will need 35 votes
to override.  That means there is much work to if we are to legalize
ferrets.
