OK we now pretty well have the rabies rules changed in most of the United
States.  My question and thoughts are, now that this has changed, what other
things can we use this as a springboard to change too!
 
1.  Now that ferrets are LIKE cats and dogs, are the Vet schools going to
follow and make the ferret studies part of the main line of study?  (Thus
giving us more medical help and lower bills, being ferrets are no longer
an exotic animal!)
 
2. Will insurance companies cover ferrets, as they are with cats and dogs?
 
3. Will the federal government now put out new standards for ferret care at
the breeders!
 
4. Will they also change the rules for interstate shipments of ferrets?
 
5.  If ferrets are like dogs and cats, why are the 500,000 in CACA land
illegal.  Make an interesting court case.
 
There are probably many other changes you can think of that could now come
about that the rabies rules have been changed.  This could be the beginning
of many positive changes for the domestic ferret.
 
Yes, the rabies issue has to be settled first, then on to other issues.
