Our dear Scarlet would poof every time Gracie (her cousin) came near
her for months after we adopted Scarlet. Gracie was also not de scented
so she she would poof back. It took almost two years before they
tolerated each other. Scarlet poofed at the boys too, but only for a
few weeks. Scarlet was a retired breeder. Gracie came to us as a kit.
