Most private breeders who consider their breeding stock as pets only breed
their jills once a year or every eleven or so months as a minimum. Most of
us feel it takes too much out of the jill to breed them at intervals any
closer than that. While it hasn't been proven, it could also adversly
affect the kits being produced by a jill that is bred back too soon before
being allowed to recover from recently weaning a litter. Look at the
problems MF ferrets have and it is a known fact they breed their jills back
at close intervals. I'm not saying the kits from a jill who gave birth in
January and has been bred back again in May will definitely have medical
problems down the road but it is something to consider.
