I don't know whether your begonia plant is dangerous or not either. I would, if
I were you, err on the side of caution. Put your plant some where your little
carpet dragons can't get to it. They are extremely creative in getting at
things they shouldn't so carefully consider your plant's placement.

This topic and the related topic of dirt digging (in potted plants) has come up
a number of times on the FML. Some people through rocks, chicken wire, etc.
make it impossible for their ferrets to dig up their potted plants. I avoid
that issue by keeping the plants out of their reach altogether. I know some of
my plants are dangerous/poisonous. I also know my "kids" are veg-o-matics.
They're the only pets I have ever known to eat lettuce, onions (green and
spanish), watermelon, etc. (Their fav's are any melon, strawberries, green
pepper, and raw mushrooms.) We have to keep a close eye on them when we take
them outside. They have been known to try to chow down on various weeds and
fungus (yikes!!!!).

My suggestion, keep the plants out of reach for the safety of your pets and for
your plant's health too! If you haven't seen your ferret dig.....ohhh....
you're in for a treat! Take them outside (on a leash, of course!) and find a
good patch of moist dirt and it's time for the ferret excavation crew to take
over. They absolutely *love* dirt! My husband and I call it the "ferret
aphrodisiac." They dig it, snort it, roll in it, it's pure ecstasy!
