Hi everyone!
 
I really can't even tell you how strongly I feel about this -- we MUST,
as a ferret community, support Modern Ferret (i.e. Mary and Eric) in
their time of need.  Whether you like the magazine or not, or whether
you subscribe or not, you need, as a ferret owner, to get out there and
promote it.
 
Why?  Because whether MF is your cup of tea or not, one thing it does is
get good, accurate information about our little fuzzbutts out there in the
general public.  I've been talking with Eric recently about their struggles
to get this issue out, and the future of the magazine, and if we don't
support them, MF WILL FOLD.
 
Now, I was an original subscriber way back before there was a magazine (#18
or #20, I believe).  I decided to give it a good faith effort -- after all,
if I didn't like it I was only out $25.  And I could choose not to renew.
 
But I have watched the magazine blossom over the last six years -- it's
gone from "just" a ferret magazine to a publication worthy of an award,
with celebrities on the last four covers.  Yes, it's quirky; yes, you may
not agree with everything they say or do with it; but in this world of
downsizing and ultra mega-mergers, when eventually the whole world will
be owned by one company, isn't it nice to know that we have the OPTION of
choosing between MF and Ferrets?
 
I, for one, support my right choose, and you -- as humans -- should as
well.  I can tell you I'm going to do everything in my power possible to
help Mary and Eric keep MF running.  For the love of the ferrets, you
should to.
 
Please, support them by buying some of their new products.  Renew your
subscription.  Tell Petco your displeasure with how things have been
handled.  Tell your ferret-owning friends that it's out there.
 
Please, do your part.  I personally don't want to be FORCED into reading
just one ferret publication.
