This was years ago, I bought the same brand (can't remember the name, very
common) in the regular hammock.  Same problem.  It's some sort of finish.
Mine started flaking.  I pealed the rest off.  It's about 5 years old, now.
The fuzzies use it, but not often.  They prefer the soft cotton hammocks
and sleepsacks
