This morning's (10/23/68) Boston Globe (pg A7) has a story about monkeys
and how scientists at Columbia University taught them to identify up to
nine objects and place them in numerical order. The article also said that
"Studies by other researchers have shown a number sense among pigeons,
rats, ferrets, raccoons, dolphins, and parrots."

Does anyone know about which studies are being referred to?? Elizabeth
Brannon is mentioned as the author of the monkey study in the journal
'Science'. Susan Carey a 'New York University psychology professor' was
also quoted.
