Hi all. My name is Isabeau and I am an albino female. Two years ago I
was living in a small apartment with hoomans who let me run loose and did
not have a ferret-proof apartment. They fed me Deli-Cat. One day they
got notice that they were being evicted for not paying their rent. They
took me to a local pet store and said if the owner did not take me in to
try and sell me for them they would simply let me run loose. They did
not care what happened to me. The owner usually did not do this sort of
thing but he decided to do it because it was close to Christmas and he
felt sorry for me.

So he took me in and put me and two sable kits and stuck us all in a 10
gallon aquarium with pine chips in it and put up a sign that read 'Albino
ferret -- CHEAP'.

I loved my little new sable kit friends but it was so small in that tank
and we all had to sleep on those smelly pine chips 'cause there were no
hammies in there or anything. We were next to a tank of really big snakes
who gave me the creeps. One day when it was very close to Christmas and
we were all feeling sad a woman came in the store and asked if the owner
had any ferrets. She had recently lost 2 of her ferrets to cancer and was
wanting to take in 2 more. The guy showed her where we were. She was so
kind looking and loved on us one by one. She also muttered something
under her breath about stupid people who put ferrets in aquariums but the
owner acted like he did not hear her. Lo and behold she told him she
wanted ALL of us!!!!! We were going to stay together.

That seems like a long time ago and now we all live in a wonderful home
where we have our own room and treats and toys and lots of loving. We
are very fortunate because we know there are others out there not as
lucky. So this is my story and this is what I am thankful for on this
Thanksgiving holiday. God Bless all you hoomans out there who are as
kind as our mamma. It restores faith in the human race.

Isabeau
