Kim-- our ferrets drag their butts after pooping too! Regardless of what
kind of litter we've been using at the time, they hop out of the box and
drag their little fuzzy butts along the carpet for a few seconds. It's
one of the funniest things I've ever seen. After watching this for a long
time, we've come to the conclusion that they're "wiping." Don't know if
this is right or not, but they don't seem to be bothered by the litter or
distressed in any way, and after dragging, they just resume normal
activity. We thought of providing little tiny rolls of toilet paper by
each litter box but they told us that there's no paper products on the
market as soft as the carpet :-).
