>I've been doing a lot of reading lately on catlitter, since I read >something about scoopable kitty litter causing respritory problems. >[...] Jerry drags his butt sometimes. It's hard to tell if he does it >in the box or once right outside of the box, when he's in his cage. >When he's out for play time and uses the box in his enclosure, he gets >out of the box and drags his rear on the bathmatt that's under the box. >-- Kim Kim-- our ferrets drag their butts after pooping too! Regardless of what kind of litter we've been using at the time, they hop out of the box and drag their little fuzzy butts along the carpet for a few seconds. It's one of the funniest things I've ever seen. After watching this for a long time, we've come to the conclusion that they're "wiping." Don't know if this is right or not, but they don't seem to be bothered by the litter or distressed in any way, and after dragging, they just resume normal activity. We thought of providing little tiny rolls of toilet paper by each litter box but they told us that there's no paper products on the market as soft as the carpet :-).
