Couch Nightmare

We have recently had a couch nightmare. Won't go into it cause it's scary.
We use a cover over the couch so the ferret's don't get into it.  Well,
this isn't working now even tho it has for 9 months.  The only other thing
I know is to put the cover under the cushions and tuck in tight so the
ferret's can't get hurt trying to get into the couch.  What else can I do?
This is getting serious because one of them can almost get into the couch
with me sitting on the cushion.
