Hello folxes.
First, my condolences too all the sick fuzzbutts and to those that have
passed on.
Well, I have to admit, I did the pets.com thing, too. Since I feed
primarily IAMS original formula (with Totally Ferret as an adjunct...they
won't eat it as the only food), and since I buy in the 20 pound bag size,
the price of $9.99 per bag was too good to pass up. Since I normally buy
from local pet stores, I wasn't really taking money away from anyone that
would miss it.
Well, the order didn't come. I finally called last week to find out what
happened. Apparently, the Internet ate the order and forgot to send a
photocopy to pets.com. They searched their entire database, but had no
info on me.
That said, I was ready to hang up, when they suggested an alternative
solution. Since the half-price sale was off (though they were still
running a sale on IAMS at $16.99 per bag, which is $10 per bag less than
the local "That Fish Place" and about $7 less than everywhere else, it was
still a good bargain), they were willing to extend the half-price offer to
me if I ordered right then. So, with them on the phone, I went to the site
again and went through the whole process.
This time, as soon as I confirmed the order, the customer service rep
snagged it and made sure that everything was OK with it. I had to pay the
current price, but the rep then posted a 50% refund to my account! Not
only that, but the food arrived today...but with an extra box. It would
seem that they had also sent a huge box of "Yesterday's News" as an apology
for the problems of buying before!!
I had no intention of buying that, as I like the litter I currently use.
But now that I've got it, I'm certainly going to give it a try! :) Maybe
they made a mistake. Or maybe the Internet Ferret snatched my order and
dragged it off to its hidey hole. Regardless, pets.com made good on the
order, the price and even threw in an unasked-for bonus! :)
Todd and the Fuzzbutt Rodeo Clowns.
