Hello All,
Our boys, our first ferrets have passed away. They would have been 8 in
June. Noseyboy had surgery for blockage in Feb., and had a partial
pancreatectomy, and was found to have lymphoma during the surgery. He'd
been on pred for insulinoma for a few months, so was not a candidate for
chemo. His chest cavity filled up with fluid, collapsing his lungs. We
assisted him over the bridge, just with some sedation, he was so weak, on
March 16. His poor brother, Shuhe, had adrenal surgery and an attempt tp
remove a pancreatic tumor in June of 97. Right after his brother died, he
had a tumor on his shoulder, caused by a fungus. I guess 2 years of pred
left him suseptable. Anyway, we've been dealing with that for about 3 1/2
weeks. Then, suddenly, he started failing. Wednesday, the 14th, I nknew,
somnehow, it was time. I said goodbye, and went to work, leaving himwith
my husband. He called me after I'd been there an hour, and I left right
away. Shuhe was gone before I got home. I am relieved to be spared the
necessity for making the decision for him, but it hurts so much. We have
loved these little guys for so long and we feel so empty, now. Thank you
all for being there.
