It's so you can say to all your friends, 'Look!  My ferret can do a trick!
Yawn, <ferret's name>!'  And then you scruff the ferret, and the ferret
yawns, and your friends all say, 'Wow, cool!' (Ok, maybe your friends
aren't as gullible as mine...) ;)
 
No, really, I don't know...it must be some sort of reflex, it must trigger
some muscle or something.  But it's fun to mess with, anyway! ;)
