They did it to me again. A few more years of my life gone. That's what
happens w/every ferret-induced heart attack. How do they manage to grow
all these grey hairs?

Just when you think your safe... Anyway, I like to open the window to give
everyone fresh air. Knowing how these little escape artists dream about
penetrating screens, I took special precautions to prevent a fuzzy splat
from the 2nd floor. I got a length of wire closet rack & cut it so it fit
snugly into the double-hung window. Now all I had to do was put what must
have looked like iron bars to the ferrets into the window opening & close
the window down on the barrier.

Viola! Impervious. Then how the h*ll did she get out there!? Luckily
she was only 1/2 way out the whole she drilled into my new screen when I
grabbed her. Of course I tried to appear calm so as not to spook her while
I hysterically ripped the prison barrier from the window. Even more
infuriating is how she looked at me smugly over her shoulder from outside
the screen as if to say "What!"

I have cages stacked to almost 6 1/2' high right next to the now
compromised window. I replaced the guard thinking that I hadn't pushed it
in properly - I'd pulled it out so fast that I really didn't have a chance
to examine my original installation. Nina, my little wonder foster ferret
must have decided she wasn't going to give up getting out that window.
Within minutes she was on top of the stacked cages. She proceeded to go
through the mini blinds to the top of the open window. When I pulled up
the blinds what do I find but the outside had dropped down 2". She had
jumped down from the top of the outside window to the sill. Then of course
she couldn't help but make my screen mosquito-friendly.

Who in their right mind is ever going to adopt this terrorist of the ferret
world?
