I live in Tampa and totally trust Dr. Gary Barsch of Barsch Animal Clinic
with all my animals - 4 dogs,3 cats, and 4 fuzzies.
 
I don't think I talked to April about a shelter, and Tampa is not really
in North Florida, but... I've started a small rescue/shelter in my home
because of the lack of one in the area.  I have three females, from
separate rescues, up for adoption right now.
 
Last, the Ferret in the Bedroom... book is the one that finally got my
animal lover daughter interested in reading again ( there was nothing that
could top Go, Dog, Go for a longtime).
