Hi fellow fuzzy lovers!
I need some help here. I posted another letter earlier today. I don't
know if it will get posted or not....

Here's my problem.... I recently purchased two newbies (I already had 4
babies). All of my ferrets are Marshall ferrets. *And before I hear about
that, let me just say that, all of my babies are wonderful, and sweet, and
none of them are biters, or anything else on a bad note. Yes my oldest has
insulinoma, but that is fairly common as we all know. She is doing well
and responding to her meds just fine.

My two newbies are another story....actually they are both great too! I
got them at the same time from the same "batch" although it is obvious
that they are not true litter mates. One is a silver mitt, and no problem
there, the other little bundle of joy, her name is Tsunami, is a panda,
and she is deaf. I discoverd that the first day I had her home. That in
itself is not the problem, because she is a darling little girl, and a very
special baby. What is weird is that she is not tattooed! ?

All my Marshall ferrets are tattooed, and all of them came with the
Marshall ferret guarantee packet. (including Tsunami)

I started wondering if this means that she wasn't "fixed", or wasn't
supposed to be sold, but slipped through somehow, and God forbid...maybe
she was meant for research and not meant to be sold?

I just can't imagine why she is not tattooed like all the others?

I'm not worried about her deafness, because she is perfectly healthy, but I
worry that if she hasn't been "fixed" that she could go into heat, and that
it something I know nothing about, other than the fact that her going into
heat could kill her if she doesn't produce a litter, and needless to
say...none of the little boys in my ferret family could ..uh...do the job.
hahaha

I wrote to the Marshall ferret people and only got a stupid, non-informative
response, so I don't know who else to call about this.

I certainly don't want to give her up, but just don't know what to do about
this.

Has this happened to anyone else out there with a Marshall ferret..missing
the tattoo, I mean?

I'd like to think that I'm worrying for nothing.

Please email me if you can help in this matter. I appreciate it. And if
anyone out there works for Marshall, or knows how I could speak to an
actual Marshall Rep. please pass along that imformation. :)

God Bless all you Ferret lovers/owners.
Erin and the kids( Ayla, Kato, Rikki, Cocoa, Cinder, and Tsunami)
