Hello All
I just wanted to say that normally I hold Bob C in the highest regard, he
has been a sort of ferret Guru for me.

But I must object to the generalized statements Bob made about shelters.
Mainly because a woman who was going to adopt one of our shelter ferrets
changed her mind because he stated that shelter ferrets were neurotic
biters with an increased chance of disease and social problems.

As for not providing them with enough love and attention that too was a
very generalized statement. I am a stay at home shelter mom and I devote a
large part of my daily 24 hrs to the ferrets we have here. I have not yet
had an adoptive parent complain about a biter or other social problems. We
foster ferrets, and get them into homes as soon as possible. I have had
ferrets in here that were so abused and neglected that they would scream
and shred if you touched them. Less than 6 months later they were ready to
go to new homes, healthy and playfull. So please do not say that I do not
devote enough time or attention to my shelter ferrets. Those ferrets would
not have been socialized at all if your generalized comments applied to
everyone.

         Thanks
              Mia Emery
