Dear Friends of Florida Ferrets,

Well, we didn't get any Rembrants....but we DID get some Waterford crystal,
a Kirby vacuum cleaner, jewelry, and even snow skis and poles (in Florida?!)

THANK YOU to the FMLers who responded and offered to donate items (namely,
J.D. "Jim" Higgins, Jackie Hawley, and esp. Stephanie Williams and
family-- who filled our rescue van with oodles of leftovers from their
garage sale last weekend!) Our "gathering mode" is complete.

We are now gearing up to welcome "Yard Sale Junkies" to our BIG yard sale
this Saturday! We have some NEW stuff--many items still in original,
unopened boxes....as well as lots of OLD stuff that we hope will become
someone's new "treasures". Once again, FMLers please tell your relatives,
friends, business associates, etc. living in the J'ville area about our
ferret shelter's fundraiser Yard Sale. EVERYTHING MUST GO!!!

We will also have some FERRETY items--both new and used--such as ferret
statues (4 poses; 4 color patterns), posters, jewelry, knicknacks, etc.
(and hopefully the new 1999 Ferret Calendar by Jeanne Carley will arrive
in time) so start your holiday shopping early!

Here's the details:
DATE: Saturday, October 17th
TIME: 7 AM-2PM (no early birds--we have many ferrets to care for before
        we begin!)
PLACE: San Marco area of Jacksonville; directly across from Landon
        Middle School.
DIRECTIONS: Go to intersection of Atlantic Blvd. and Hendricks Avenue,
the Yard Sale will be on Thacker Avenue at the end of the
street. There will be plenty of signs to direct you there.

WHY: To raise $$$$ to help the Shelter ferrets, some of whom we mentioned
in our first post: THOMAS, who has started heartworm treatments; GYPSY's
adrenal surgery was successful--but, sadly, her system "crashed"
unexpectedly two days later and she's another Shelter Angel waiting at
Rainbow Bridge; and just this week we've had four surrenders (including one
sweet albino guy who was confiscated during a local drug bust; kept by
Animal Control for 30 days; and this AM released to our shelter); in
addition to three 4-month-old kits abandoned by their former owner. WHEW!
It's been hectic here since our original notice only a week ago....

THANK YOU for your support...we look forward to seeing you...or your
friends, etc....Bright and Early!!

For The Ferrets...Come On and."SHOP 'TIL YOU DROP"!
