When my Mr. Spaz had an infection causing multiple urinary blockages I
found "Willard Water" something that helped him quite a lot.  It makes
water very much more wet, but is designed for internal use so it's not
anything like a soap.  The "XXX" formula has added minerals, & since I used
only a couple of drops at a time in his food or water, and there were no
crystals causing the blockage, I used that with good results also.  He went
thru something like 6 treatments of 4 diffferent anti biotics, quite an
ordeal that started with just a cold that about half the kids got last
summer.
 
It's available at most health food stores except GNC as they're moving
toward only carring their brand of stuff.  If you can't find it, the store
in Scottsdale will ship for a $3.00 flat fee, & takes plastic money (credit
