Firstly, if there was a discussion 'bout this, as indicated here, we had
obviously missed it ourselves, or we'd have said this very same then!

We have had now 19 individual furrits, over a period of 20 plus years, and
ALL of them have always received a "DAILY" garlic supplement. We've found,
and believe that it not only IS a definite "health" benefit due it's
'natural antibiotic' properties, BUT also that it is the reason we have
NEVER had a single flea on a furrit. We give 4 "jamieson brand" of
"odorless garlic capsules" each containing the equivalent of 500 mg of
fresh garlic, in the form of 5 mg of concentrated garlic. The capsules
are the little beige "gelatin" type and also contain minute amounts (as
suspension veichle only), soybean oil USP, vegetable oil, purifed water,
and lecithin. As stated, we've continually held to this practice now for
many years and with ALL of our ferts, and have NEVER seen any sort of an
adverse affect or reaction from doing so, and indeed, assure quite the
opposite has been our experience as noted, and just as a point of fact,
apart from UBU who suffered from and died of Cardimyopathy/Adrenal and
Beanie Beans who suffered from and died of Lymphosarcoma/Adrenal, ALL of
our dear little ones have lived continually healthy lives, and as does
Ferris now today as well, and all have died of "old age" after 'minimum'
10-12 years, and a couple 13-14 yrs. Soooooo, we simply CANNOT find any
validity to claim that garlic is harmful, and most certainly not lethal.
IOHO!

Ferris " UMMMMM garlic! What do ya mean ALL GONE AGAIN!! JHEEZ Hissss!"

We pray God's Grace and Mercy provide you all fuzzy or not good health.

[Moderator's note: Vets on this list have certainly questioned the safety
of garlic. Since there ARE documented cases of garlic and/or onions being
lethal to other pets, at least some caution is probably a good idea. See
the following posts for more about this. BIG]
