Hello, wonderful people. I have a very unusual situation for shelters,
which I can only attribute to excellent surrounding resources and heavy
emphasis on visibility - We have NO adoptable ferrets and a waiting list of
homes.

The nearby shelters are ECE exposed, so for homes where there is already
ferrets, I've been hesitant to make referrals. For first-time ferret owners
I often refer folks to the nearest shelter in Kansas City, MO.

Given the concern several weeks ago by an international subscriber about our
US Shelters being overcrowded, I'd like to point out that we have rescued
more than a dozen ferrets from a retiring breeding operation and have placed
all in loving homes in Northeast Kansas without problems. However, ferret
kits sell here for only $100 - $120 - even going down to $75 in peak summer
breeding season.

So, if you are a shelter in the US with overcrowding, without known ECE
exposure, and would like to offload some of them for placement, please let
me know.

All the best -

Julie
