I too have a ferret that loves hard liquor. Doesn't care for beer, just
tequilla, rum and the like. We discovered this a couple of years back when
she was a kit. We had just gotten married and had several large plastic
bottles of tequilla left over from the party. Well, one of the bottles
developed a very small leak at the seam. Just enough to develop a tiny
puddle under and around the bottle. Scrappie was getting into the cabinet
and drinking the tequilla. All we knew though was that she was lethargic
and losing weight. We separated her from the other ferret we have so we
could watch her closer and she would perk right up and get better. Then
when we would let her out to normal quarters, The same scenario would happen
all over again. We finally took her to the vet, shaking our heads looking
for anything that would explain what was happening to her.

Obviously, the vet couldn't explain it either.

Then one Saturday morning as I was cleaning in the kitchen, I saw Scrappie
climb in the cabinets. I couldn't get to her right away so when I did go
and reclaim her from the cabinet, there she was just lapping away. Our
mysterious disease was instantly cured. It's been over three years since
this happened, but she still wants in that same cabinet and looks for the
tequilla.

Since everything turned out ok, it's kinda funny now.
