Our little girl Dusty, a beautiful marked white, came with ringworm. The
vet spotted it on Dusty's first visit four days after were got her. She is
not a ferret who sits still for even a moment, and her hair covered it
pretty much so we didn't notice it. But when the vet looked at her from
behind, he saw the spot. He did a culture and it came out positive for
ringworm (about a two week wait to be sure). Luckily, my other two girls,
Fidget and Jezebel, did not catch it, nor did my family. Even more lucky,
it did not spred on Dusty.

It took a while to get rid of. We first just cleaned it with Betadine. It
started to get better, but then she got a big scab. The vet shaved her butt
and cut the scab off... poor girl running around with a bald butt. :(
(Actually, only half her butt was bald.) This time we used gauze and cleaned
the spot with anti-bacterial soap, dried the area, and then applied
Betadine. It has cleared up and the spot is getting fuzzy again. Yeah!

bald any more)
