All right, several people have mentioned living with an intellectually
challenged ferret.
 
How can you tell?  No, seriously, I don't get it.  All the ferrets I have
known have been silly, playful, kittenish, hopelessly clumsy.  How does an
intellectually challenged ferret behave?  Who set the standards?  What is
the basis for comparison?
