Hi,

As many of you know, I am blessed with being owned by three beautiful,
spunky fuzz-girls, Jasmine, Casey and Samantha. The baby, Sam, is now
(already!) 4 months old, and has *almost* curbed her nippiness with humans,
but not quite.... my dilemma is such: Sam is VERY kissy when it comes to
faces, necks, ears, etc., but she turns into a nasty biter with arms and
feet. And not just anywhere on your arm, but right in the crook, where the
skin is sensitive and veins are close to the skin! (think of where you get
a blood test at the doctor's -- this is where Sam "attacks.") I know that
ferrets are usually attracted to that spot for licking due to the sweat
produced there, and Sam always starts by licking. However, after the first
couple of licks, she digs her teeth in HARD, and shakes her head like she
wants to "kill" my arm! Ouch!! She hasn't drawn blood - yet. She, like
Casey, is also a barefoot biter, but not as hard as with the crook of
anyone's (especially my) arm. What should I do? Keep an endless supply of
bitter apple there? I've tried a little of that, but she is continually
attracted to that area anyway. It's getting to be pretty painful & I'm at a
loss with this since she's so sweet and kissy otherwise. Any suggestions?

Also, on a side note I was flipping through the TV channels on Saturday and
came across the "Animal Planet" show on the Discovery Channel, they profiled
the black footed ferret - it was a really good segment. Now if they can do
one on domestic ferrets for the Calif. legalization efforts!!! Anyone have
a contact at that TV show??

That's all for now! :) Jen, Jasmine, Casey and Samantha
