Don't these guys ever get anything simple??????

Well, I just got back from a recheck for Nidhoggr. The chest x-ray is still
not very good, but now all of his lymph glands are huge. The conclusion was
lymphosarcoma. The vet doesn't hold a whole lot of hope. We're on
prednisone and Baytril now. I am using "Timmy's diet" from Gary Holowicki
(Thanks loads, it may be a lifesaver!!) he has doubled his wieght in a week,
and is back to about 3/4 of his original weight. His energy seems better.
He hardly staggers now, his color is better, and he does move around the
house a little. He has no interest in outdoors, though :( (that's always
been his fav, too). We're being vigilant, and hoping for the best. If
anyone has any info that may help this fight, it would be appreciated. I am
trying to get an appt with a holistic healer, as well as the vet care. I
haven't found a really good ferret specialist here in RI yet. If anyone
knows of one, it would help. Our next step is to biopsy, perhaps next week.
I want to get a little more wieght on him first. Again, I truly appreciate
all your help, and welcome any more you might have.

Thanks

PS the necropsy results on my ferret that died stated severe chronic
progressive to end stage renal disease as the cause of renal failure, which
was the cause of death. There was also splenomegaly/infarction and
glomerulonphropathy, which is a component of Aleutian disease, but that
there was no evidence of marked plasmacytosis or vasculitis, which would
have been able to make a more concrete case for Aleutian disease. It is
still strongly suspected, as it would explain the simultaneous onset of the
diesase complexes in my 2 ferrets. The lymph reaction in my living ferret
could be associated with Aleutian complex. I have the full necropsy
results, if anyone wishes them.

Does anyone have anything that may offer more information on Aleutian
disease?? Anything else that may cause these to occur?

What about chemo for ferrets for lymphosarcoma?

Please, I cannot bear to lose another, especially this one, he's my baby!
