Pepita being hyper: Play with her to wear her out! Teach her hide and
seek. When playing and chasing her suddenly turn around run and hide.
Eventually the ferret will come around - jump out and yell and throw a
dishtowel at her she'll love it! Also tie a small soft cat toy to a
string - attach to a dowel or broom handle - dangle it and run around the
house while she chases it.

Nutro Max: my only experience with it was that its the only food that went
moldy on me - it grew fuzz! I suppose the up side is that maybe that means
they don't use preservatives.

Scales: thanks for the tip on the bread scale - I get Wooden Spoon and
Williams Sonoma but any scales in there never registered with me. I'll have
to go looking.

Nippiness and genetic personality traits: A friend of mine has 1 nippy fert
out of three. You cannot put this ferret near your face - she'll go for the
nose. I think Catherine may be right about some just being predisposed.
When they mentioned this to the reputable breeder she commented "well her
mother was nippy". Yes I said reputable - she has a good reputation, why
she bred a nippy mother I dont know - maybe she has more experience now.
But if buying from a breeder you may want to ask about the personality of
the parents.

I hadn't noticed any big coat blows but my two have passed what seem to be
an unusual amount of hairballs lately. They are usually long flat matted
things aren't they? This is, by the way, one advantage of using newspaper
instead of litter, I can get a really good look:) On the rare occasion they
go in a litter box the litter gets on it and I have a tougher time doing my
examination. Am I poop obsessed or what:)

My vet (or experienced others) question: I posted a question for my vet on
the ferret turning circles (poor thing - it couldn't stop at all!) and
havent received any responses. Please help!
